There should be a blog. A blog that answers some questions about the 900 person layoff.

There should be a blog. A blog that answers some questions about the 900 person layoff.

First question that pops into my mind is 900 people will typically have team leads they follow and assuming a span of control of 5 to 1, does this mean there where 180 team leads that misled the 900?

If so were those 180 misleading team leads let go?

Of course it goes uphill from there, the team leads have managers and again assuming the five to one span of control, does this mean there were 36 managers that were not on top of the situation and managing?

But again it goes higher, those 36 managers receive direction from 7 directors. Side note, I am just assuming one of those director is covering an extra manager. Was the direction provided creating the mismanagement and lack of leadership? If so where those 7 directors also layed off?

Not quite done yet, those 7 directors should have a vice president that is presiding over their divisions and should be proactively finding and eliminating these directing, managing, leading and individual performance issues. So you can anticipate the question, were those 2 or more presidents let go?

And it might finally stop at one C Suite individual that both of those VPs or presidents were under? Was there someone in the CSuite that was let go?
