General Braddock dies in the Battle of Monongahela in 1755. The battle in the French and Indian war was defeat for the British which saw a stronger British and Colonial force defeated by a far smaller French and Indian force. There were many notables involved like George Washington and waggoners Daniel Boone and Daniel Morgan.
The first Wimbledon Tournament is held in 1877.
Allies invade Sicily in 1943.
