The United States Constitutional Convention starts in 1787. In 1861 Lincoln suspends the right of Habeas Corpus for the duration of Civil War. The first Star Wars movie opens in theaters in 1977 and stays in theaters for almost a year.

Prince Henry of Portugal or as he would later be call Henry the Seafarer or Henry the Navigator, is appointed govenor of the Order of Christ in 1420. This position provides an important means of financing explorations. Organizing expeditions that explored the western coasts of Africa and passing the Cape Bojador, Henry was able to open alternatives to the land based trade routes through the Sahara.
