June 30: Tightrope Over Niagra

On this day in history...

Charles Guiteau the assassin of President Garfield is executed in 1882.
Hitler orders the purge of the Nazi party in 1934, in what would be later known as the night of the long knives.
In 1950 Truman sends army and marine troops to Korea, starts airforce bombing North Korea and begins the naval blockade.
