The Suez Canal is reopened in 1975 for the first time since the Six Day War.
The Apple II goes on sale in 1977.
Also On This Day...
a single man later known only as the 'Tank Man' is photographed blocking a line of tanks by simply standing in front of them. The tanks were part of the crushing of the Tienanmen Square protests.
